Kinark's Executive Director Peter Moore appeared on CBC Radio Toronto's Metro Morning Show hosted by Andy Barrie on Thursday, Nov. 19. Peter appeared on the show to announce the launch of www.speakingofkidsmentalhealth.ca, which is powered by Kinark.
On the show along with Peter was a Kinark parent who spoke very openly about her experience in helping her son, who has been diagnosed with Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD).

Our 13-year-old son has struggled with ODD for the last five years....we were lucky to have received help when we did. A family friend pointed us in the right direction and we got help. He is managing it well....my advice is if you think he needs help, reach out for it.

Hello. I have a son, aged 7, who I am concerned has oppositional defiant disorder. I have not gone through any formal testing, but he seems to fall into all the categories … I wonder if there are any parents there that I can connect with? I appreciate your time - thank you.

Great to hear this story on the radio. We need more parents talking about their kids' experiences to take away the stigma and misunderstanding.
We have been down that road
